The Society will shortly be writing to RMBC to enquire about the future of Blenheim House. Two years ago the owner applied for planning permission to convert the house into apartments. A fire then destroyed the roof and the building has been put up for sale.
This is an important building; it was lived in by Sir Charles Stoddart, the manager of the Parkgate Iron and Steelworks. It stands in a Conservation Area. What discussion are taking place to ensure that the building doesn't just fall down?
A history of the house is available in 'Newsletters'.
